TCSG Guarantee/Warranty:
The Technical College System of Georgia guarantees employers that graduates of State Technical Colleges shall possess skills and knowledge as prescribed by State Curriculum Standards. Should any graduate employee, within two years of graduation, be deemed lacking in said skills, that student shall be retrained in any State Technical College at no charge for instructional costs to either the student or the employer.

Guarantee/Warranty:
To demonstrate confidence in and commitment to quality technical education programs which are relevant, current, and responsive to the stated expectations of Georgia’s businesses and industries, the State Board of Technical and Adult Education will warrant every graduate from a technical certificate of credit, diploma or associate degree in a state-governed institute according to the following stipulations:

The warranty guarantees that the graduate has demonstrated the knowledge and skills and can perform each competency as identified in the industry-validated Standard or Program Guide, and any program graduate who is determined to lack such competence shall be retrained at no cost to the employer or graduate for tuition or instructional fees.

A claim against the warranty may be filed by either an employer in conjunction with the graduate or a graduate if the graduate cannot perform one or more of the competencies contained in the industry-validated Standard or Program Guide, including failure to pass a State of Georgia licensing examination. The warranty will remain in effect for two consecutive years following the date of graduation and will be honored by any state-governed technical college which offers the same program.

To inquire or file a claim under this warranty, instructors or employers may contact the Vice President for Educational Services at 478-553-2068.

Quarterly Schedules

A listing of the classes to be taught each quarter, including the days and times, is published prior to the beginning of each quarter. Quarterly class schedules are available online at www.sandersvilletech.edu.

Course Numbers

Course designations consist of a three-letter prefix, a number, and the title of the course. The three-letter prefix indicates the subject. Effective Winter Quarter 2009, courses numbered 1000 and above carry credit toward graduation. General Education courses carrying a course number 1100 and above are degree-level courses.

Course Hours and Credit Hours

Following the course title the course credit hours and contact hours are indicated. Please note the actual contact hours for a given quarter are the contact hours shown times 10. For instance, a course showing 4 credit hours yet 6 contact hours would meet for 60 hours over the course of the quarter.

Prerequisites

“Prerequisites” are required before enrolling in a course; they will be identified immediately preceding the course description in the catalog.

Corequisites

Types of Delivery

Traditional

These are courses are assigned to an instructor and to a classroom for every contact hours.

Individualized Instruction/Concurrent Courses

Typically the courses in the Cosmetology program and Trade and Industrial programs are assigned to an instructor and to a classroom/lab for every contact hour. However, students may work at their own pace through guidance from their instructor.

Online

These courses are taught using the Internet with the bulk of the course content, activities and interactions occurring online.

Web-enhanced

These courses are traditional classroom courses that use the Internet as an important component of the course. The Web-based component of the course supports classroom instruction and may require students to use the Internet in order to interact with one another and the instructor to review content, do research, complete and/or submit assignments, or take tests.

Hybrid

These courses are taught partially via the Internet and partially via the classroom. Hybrid courses differ from Web-enhanced courses in that Web-enhanced courses are not assigned to a classroom for every contact hour described in the course catalog.
