Sandersville Technical College Hosts Region GCSA Competition

Sandersville - Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 Region 6 Georgia Career Student Association (GCSA) Competition (formerly VOCA). The competition was held at Sandersville Technical College on Friday, February 22 nd. Three hundred forty-four students from 16 area high schools participated in this event.

With forty-two project categories – ranging from mechanical drafting to agricultural science and graphic design – the event showcased a diverse group of skill sets. First and second place winners move on to the state level competition at Jekyll Island, Georgia in April.

The GCSA contests enable members to demonstrate proficiency and to acquire experience in chapter projects, leadership skills and occupational preparation. This event allows students to showcase their achievements, stimulate their growth and improvement in integrating career/technical skills, academic skills and experiences.
