12 Awarded Georgia Mining Foundation Scholarships
Congratulations to the 12 Sandersville Technical College students awarded scholarships from the Georgia Mining Foundation.
The Georgia Mining Association is comprised of over 40 mining and mineral producers who have operations in 112 counties in Georgia. The Association also includes more than 160 other companies that provide the mining industry with supplies and services. These companies have a significant impact on Georgia with more than 7,000 persons directly employed in the companies’ operations.
The Georgia Mining Foundation (GMF) was established fourteen years ago with a $20,000 scholarship fund to be distributed as individual scholarships to assist students with college tuition. This year’s winners will receive a $250 scholarship which will be presented to them during an awards luncheon hosted by the GMF.
This year’s winners from Sandersville Tech are: Teresa Marie Andrews, Emily Barker, Reginald Davis, Chris Epps, Shannon Gober, Topekia Jackson, Shannon Delorise Knight, Paul Van Loenen, Jo Anne Shannon, Beverly Ann Sneed, Michael Surgbally, and Melissa Wright.
