Sandersville Technical College spotlighted International Literacy Awareness Month with an educational contest for students in grades three through eight.
Throughout the month of September, students were challenged to answer the weekly trivia question that appeared in the newspaper. Four entries were randomly selected from the submissions each week for a total of 16 winners. Each winner received a movie ticket, a certificate for a free ice cream, and other goodies.
“The number of correct entries speaks volume about the quality of education our children are receiving. I was especially pleased that the third grade participants performed as well as their eighth grade counterparts,” states Raydor Coneway, Adult Education Instructor.
STC applauds the children, parents, and schools for participating and recognizing the value of literacy in their lives. If you would like more information about STC’s adult education or GED programs, please visit or call the STC Jefferson County Center in Louisville at (478) 625-1901.
