Sandersville Tech Holds Honors Day
Sandersville –Sandersville Technical College held its annual Honors Day on Wednesday, March 11th in the Franks-Thiele Auditorium at the Main Campus in Sandersville. Students from all campuses – Sandersville, Louisville, and Sparta – were in attendance to be recognized for their excellence in academics, service to the college, and earned technical certificates of credit.

SGA is composed of student representatives from each program of study at STC to promote the school to the community and improve the quality of technical education.

After completing 30 credit hours, diploma- or degree-seeking students attaining a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher are asked to join NTHS at STC.

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women who are sponsored by the local Rotary club making them true “partners in service” and key members of the Rotary family. Their focus is on professional development, leadership development, and service, both locally and internationally.

The “Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education” Awards Program honors and recognizes adult students in Georgia’s Adult Education program.

Dr. Lloyd Horadan, President of Sandersville Tech, presented the 2009 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) Award and the Kenneth H. Breeden Scholarship to Shannon Gober, Early Childhood Care and Education student.
The Student Government Association also presented Ms. Gober a $500 cash award to be used in preparation for Consortium GOAL competition. Ms. Gober was nominated by STC instructor, Dr. Angela Raines.
Following the ceremony, the Student Government Association hosted a luncheon in the Student Center for students, faculty, staff, and guests.
