Norris Awarded Two Scholarships at Chamber Banquet

(Sandersville) - Josh Norris had a great night at the Washington County Stars Banquet on Thursday, April 16th which was hosted by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce. A student at Washington County High School and dual enrollment student at Sandersville Technical College, Josh received two scholarships toward his college education at STC.

Carl Brooks of Bryan Welding & Fabrication, Inc. presented Josh with The Bennie P. Bryan Welding Scholarship. This $250 scholarship is awarded each year to a Washington County High School senior who has participated in the Dual Enrollment Welding program and plans to enter into the Welding diploma program at Sandersville Technical College.

E.K. May of May and Smith Funeral Directors presented Josh with The May-Smith Scholarship. This $500 scholarship is awarded each year to a Washington County High School senior who has applied to and been accepted at Sandersville Technical College.

"Both scholarships require recommendation letters from an instructor, and Josh was an exceptional candidate. I am very proud of Josh. He is good student with a good worth ethic. I know he will make the most of these scholarships to continue his education after high school," comments his STC Welding Instructor, Tony Simmons.
