Farolyn Huff, a single mother from Louisville, is taking advantage of everything Sandersville Technical College has to offer. She started by getting her GED in June 1995. Next, Farolyn completed a diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in September 2007. She immediately applied for entrance in the ECCE Associates of Applied Science Degree program.
When her Asset scores were a little below what she needed to get into the degree program, Farolyn began to work diligently with Lauren Poss in STC’s Learning Lab to get her scores up. Mrs. Poss says, “Farolyn is one of the hardest working students to come through the lab and it paid off with excellent scores.”
Farolyn’s advisor and ECCE Instructor Dr. Angela Raines says, “Farolyn is an excellent student with a great work ethic.” When Farolyn finishes her degree in December 2008, she wants to work as a paraprofessional in a Primary School or as a Day Care teacher. |
