STC Medical Assisting holds pinning ceremony

On Tuesday, December 11, 2007 – The Sandersville Technical College’s Medical Assisting students held their pinning ceremony at Frank Welch’s on East McCarty Street in Sandersville.

While surrounded by Christmas decorations and an equally, elaborately decorated tree, Medical Assisting Instructor, Michelle Weatherford, CMA, BLS, welcomed invited family members and the Health Occupations faculty and staff to the pinning ceremony. Ms. Weatherford thanked the Health Occupations faculty for taking her students under their wings and allowing them to blossom and to learn the invaluable skills needed to be exceptional Medical Assistants.

Ms. Weatherford thanked her students also for applying themselves and working hard to become successful Medical Assistants. After Ms. Weatherford’s brief speech and the students received their pins, invited family members and the Health Occupations faculty and staff retired to the dining room and were treated to a delicious buffet style supper. It was a special night for all in attendance.

The Health Occupations Department at Sandersville Technical College would like to commend and congratulate these outstanding students on their crowning achievement, Joanne Cunningham, (Louisville), Ashley Dukes, (Louisville), and Gloria Jackson (Sandersville). Sandersville Technical College Health Occupations Department would also like to thank and send heart-felt and sincerest of thanks to all of the clinical sites in which the Medical Assisting Students received their training.

The students will now prepare to take the AAMA Certification Examination which will qualify them to become nationally Certified Medical Assistants. GOOD LUCK LADIES!
