"Washington County's 10th Annual Relay for Life raised $89,707 to freeze out cancer. The steering committee's goal was to raise $75,000. Chairman Jim Dunn had issued a challenge that if we reached our goal he would dye his hair purple. So, after the luminary ceremony, his hair become purple. Twenty four teams participated. This year we had thirty one corporate sponsors. There were 220 cancer survivors participating. Teams stil have until August 31 to raise money.
