Science Fair: Abstract Instructions

1. TYPE (using all capitals) title, your name, and category within the upper box of the form.

2. Use 10-12 point type, single space, and use a new black ribbon or laser cartridge. The entire abstract must be placed within the outlined box on the abstract form. Limit the abstract to 250 words or less.

The abstract should include:

a) purpose of the experiment
b) procedures used
c) data
d) conclusions
e) any possible research applications, and
f) minimal reference to previous work.

The abstract should NOT include:

a) acknowledgements or Institution where work was done, or
b) work or procedures done by the mentor.

3. Prepare two (2) copies of the official GSEF abstract form:

• Send one copy to the Regional Fair (Sandersville Tech) along with photocopies of required certification forms (you should keep the originals of all certification forms in your notebook).
  
  
• Put your original abstract into your Project Notebook along with originals of other required forms and your project report. Bring all originals (including the notebook) with your project to Sandersville Tech.
