Adult Education

In today’s competitive world, an education is more important than ever before.  Education is the key to better jobs and an overall better quality of life.  Sandersville Technical College’s Adult Education Program can provide the first step to helping you improve your future.

Adult Education Services

The Adult Education Program was developed for adults who want to improve their basic education skills.  The program is designed for adults who have different needs, backgrounds, and skill levels. 

To help meet our students needs, we offer day and evening classes that include the following five general services:

Basic, General, and Specialized Education: 
Instruction is provided in the areas of reading, arithmetic, writing and grammar, science, social studies and life skills.

GED Test Preparation: 
Through general and specialized instruction and practice tests, our instructors help students prepare to successfully complete the GED Examination.

Workplace Literacy Programs: 
We deliver customized on-site programs on a cost recovery basis to assist employers in helping its employees improve skills needed to perform present and future jobs. 

English Language Programs: 
English Language programs are designed to assist non-English speaking adults develop the English speaking, writing and life skills needed to live and work in the United States.

General Education Diploma (GED) Testing: 
Sandersville Tech is the GED Testing Center for our five county area.  The test is offered monthly at Sandersville Tech and periodically in our other counties.  Please follow the link to GED Test Information.

How do I get started?

Call or visit Sandersville Tech or the Adult Education Site in your county.  An orientation program and a placement test are required to help us design a program customized to meet your needs.

Are there any special requirements?

There are special requirements for students between the ages of 16 and 18.  

There is a fee for the GED exam, and Workplace Programs are provided on a cost recovery basis.  All other services are provided free of charge. 

We offer our services in Gibson, Sparta, Louisville, Wrens, Stapleton, Wadley, Davisboro, Warthen, Sandersville and Warrenton.  Please follow the links on this page to your county for more information about the program in your community.
