From the Stacks: "Even Eagles Need a Push"

The store shelves are stocked with notebook paper, crayons, markers, glue, scissors and all sorts of school supplies. It is that time of year again…Back to School! “Back to School” comes around four times a year at Sandersville Technical College. Whether you are a new student, a returning student or just considering enrolling, I have some great books that will get you started on the right track.

How to Study and other Skills for Success in College by Allan Mundsack, James Deese and Ellin K. Deese offers you tips on studying and taking tests. If you want to enjoy college more, get better grades and make more time for extracurricular activities, this guide is for you.

Ultimately, you are going to school to get a job. So, what do employers want you to learn while you are in college? 10 Things Employers Want You to Learn in College by Bill Coplin will tell you these things. Would you believe that number one on his list is work ethics…something we stress very strongly here at Sandersville Tech. M ore people lose their jobs because of work ethics than lack of skills. So, read this book and find out exactly what you need to learn while in college to be successful on your job.

I know some of you think you can’t come to college or take a test because you just cannot remember the things you have learned. I have just the book for you, Everyday Memory Builder by Jon Keith which will help you remember what you have learned. There is a whole section in this book devoted to students and other learners. So, come check out this book and you will overcome your Athazagoraphobia.

Here at Sandersville Tech, you can take many of your classes on-line. Those of you who are planning on doing some of your classes this way will want to read, How to be a Successful Online Student by Sarah Dulaney Gilbert. If you think taking classes in your pajamas is for you, check out this book for explanations and tips for being a successful online student.

For those of you wanting to become a nurse, check out Nursing Student Success made Incredibly Easy. This book takes you from beginning your classes to preparing for your state boards and beyond.
