We Do Have Fun!
STC offers student the chance to join in and have some fun! Here are the student groups currently active at STC. Your participation in these organizations can help you enhance your employability skills. It’s also a great opportunity to socialize with fellow students and network outside of the classroom.

Student Government Organization (SGA) is an organization dedicated to serving the college and community, improving school morale, and providing a clear channel of communication between faculty, administration, and the student body.
SGA hosts a variety of activities which include Spring Fling, Black Heritage Month, free Refreshments on Bookstore Day, Canned Food Drive, and Toys for Tots.

Spring Fling is a fun time for students as various programs compete in the annual Volleyball tournament.

The group Firyali taught a few students and instructors how to move, celebrating Black Heritage Month last February.
If you are interested in joining SGA you can attend the monthly meetings which are held the first Wednesday of each month or you can contact Shirley Forrest (478-553-2065) or Connie Usry (478-553-2063) in the Admissions Office.

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) is an organization for Future Business Leaders of America. PBL is a national organization whose members are interested in becoming more successful in the business world.
Membership in PBL allows members to learn about business and gives them the opportunity to see the “real world” through interaction with business leaders from across the county. This is a great opportunity for career preparation, leadership development and achievement, leadership conferences, community service experience, and scholarships and prizes. Rotaract is a new organization at Sandersville Technical College and is a Rotary-sponsored service club for college men and women. The STC Rotaract club is sponsored by the local Sandersville Rotary club making them true "partners in service" and key members of the Rotary family.
Through the Rotaract program, members not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service. If you are interested in joining Rotaract you can attend a bi-monthly meeting on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month or you may contact Kathy Aaron (478-553-2148) or Jennifer Thigpen (478-553-2064).
STC Book Club is a great social gathering about to kick off another great quarter. Membership in the STC Book Club can begin at any time and is open to all students, staff, and faculty at Sandersville Technical College. The STC Book Club is a great way to meet new people, discuss interesting books, and have a great time!

Author and local physician Dr. William Rawlings spoke to a recent STC Book Club meeting after they read his novel, The Rutherford Cipher.
September’s selection will be Oliver Twist by David Copperfield. The STC Book Club meets on a monthly basis on campus. Drinks and snacks are provided during meetings.
