STC Welcomes Partridge to Jefferson County Center

In January 2000, I decided to go to STC for Commercial Truck Driving. Instructors Mr. Williams, Mr. English, and Mr. Burton managed to make this possible for me. I drove trucks full-time until 2003 when I decided to drive part-time so that I could work on my Cosmetology diploma again.

Sandersville Technical College welcomes its newest Welding Instructor Jeff Partridge. Jeff comes from 13 years of welding experience at Fulghum’s and 11 years at Thermo-King (Ingersoll-Rand Company). His expertise allows him to challenge the students to be the best they can be for employment locally in Jefferson County or anywhere else the road may lead.

"Jeff brings a good mix to the table with depth of knowledge of welding and real world experience,” comments STC Jefferson County Center Director Matt Hodges. “He wants them to be able to handle any type of project, any type of weld, and also be good employees.”

“Work Ethics is probably the biggest thing I stress during class to the students,” says Partridge. “Going to work on time, being a good employee while on the job , and also having a good attitude while at work is probably the key to getting a good job in today’s work force.

“I can’t stress enough that showing that you care is what it’s all about. I saw many people come and go in the real world that just didn’t have the right attitude. Yes, they needed practical skills to work the job but also they need to learn life skills.”

STC is glad to have Jeff as a dedicated, full-time Welding Instructor at the Jefferson County Center. For more information about STC’s Welding Program in Jefferson County, please contact Jeff Partridge at 478-625-1901 or visit our website at www.sandersvilletech.edu
